Back to ‘Drama & music projects and youth theatres’

Vocalized is a singing, musical theatre and band development workshop for 11 – 19-year-olds that builds confidence and self-esteem through music.

In partnership with Youth Action Alliance (YAA), together we aim to provide a safe space for young people to explore and develop their musical talent as well as improving self-confidence and well-being.

We worked across two schools in North Kensington for our first project, culminating in a showcase at The Chelsea Theatre, with our young people performing in choirs, duets, solos, newly formed bands, and a musical theatre group. The project has provided a much-needed creative activity in the area, taught new skills, given the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, nurtured new talent and helped develop a life-long interest in the performing arts for our participants. For most of our students, this is the first time they have taken part in a project like this, and has encouraged students to think about taking music in further education.

“I understand the parts of the voice better and my confidence with singing is so much better”
