“I would never be off to study acting without their help”

Xena gained technical skills and confidence at NYAT’s Ely Youth Theatre, and is now studying for a degree in Acting.
Xena is one of our Ely Youth Theatre’s alumni, and is currently studying for a degree in Acting – an opportunity she accredits directly to the technical skills and confidence she gained with NYAT. Prior to NYAT, Xena did not consider theatre to be a career option that was open to her:
“Joining the NYAT Theatre group has by far been one of the best experiences of my life. It has given me the opportunity to develop my acting ability, communication skills and confidence, and meet some really great people along the way… I would never be off to study acting at university without their help.”
NYAT’s youth theatres exist to unearth emerging talent, make bold and exciting work, give a chance for young people’s voices to be heard, be a spring board for further education, and encourage our members in developing a lifelong passion for the performing arts.
With your support, NYAT fills the gap between school and higher education, and provides accessible drama training in areas of low arts provision.
