Black Lives Matter
The National Youth Arts Trust stands in solidarity with those challenging the discrimination and murder of Black people. Racism pervades all areas of society and we believe the Arts have a central role to play in dismantling the systemic racism and oppression of Black people in the UK. We are as committed as ever to addressing racial inequality and to be better allies to the Black community. We must do better and stand up at every opportunity to dismantle racism. NYAT was set up in response to inequality in the performing arts industry and to ensure a career in the Arts is accessible to all. We will work harder to ensure we support and provide opportunities for our young Black members to be seen and heard, valued and promoted in the performing arts industries. We have a bigger part to play and will continue our learning to become a better anti-racist organisation.
