Anything But This

This news story is from 5 April 2019.

Our youth theatre in East Hull perform new writing Anything But This at Hull Truck

Anything But This is a response to Middle Child’s Us Against Whatever, written and devised by our youth theatre in Hull, with additional dramaturgy by Hull Truck Theatre supported artist, Lydia Marchant.

“Why is everyone talking about Brexit and literally nothing else?”

The show is focused on life as a teenager in 2019, trying to have a voice and anything but Brexit!

The youth theatre met the cast of Us Against Whatever and were able to watch the press night of the show – and take part in interval karaoke!

NYAT’s youth theatre company in Hull aims to inspire, unearth emerging talent, be a spring board for further education, a platform for new local voices and engage young people to develop a lifelong passion for the performing arts.

This new piece of work was in association with Middle Child, in response to Us Against Whatever, their new cabaret about the places that we keep in our hearts, that comes to Hull Truck Theatre from 27 March to 3 April.
