Youth Theatre Online: Hamlet
This news story is from 7 May 2020.
Whilst our youth theatre workshops are suspended to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are sharing weekly updates with theatre related online resources for our youth theatre. We’ve added the newsletter here in case it’s helpful for others too!
Week 7: 04/05/2020
Live Artist Q&As
It’s our first online Q&A with actress and writer Rosa Hesmondhalgh this Monday (11th) at 3.30pm!
Rosa will be answering your questions about how she got into theatre at school, writing a play, what drama school is like, and how she got there, and just a general chat about what you’re interested in.
In the meantime, to help you prepare your questions for our Q&A, please watch the video of Rosa’s play Madame Ovary, filmed during her production’s run in Edinburgh (sent via email).
Hamlet: this week’s play screening
Captured in the round at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre, this production boldly reimagines gender across the characters. Maxine Peake, a leading British talent, stars as the first UK female Hamlet on a major stage for 35 years.
