“A bursary has given her confidence again”

Blu-Sky has a passion for dance, and an NYAT bursary has made it possible for her to flourish.
Blu-Sky first started classes at the age of three, and over the seven years she has been dancing, her teachers report excellent progress.
“The art form means everything to me. I would like to have a career as a ballet dancer and join a ballet company.”
With selective mutism, Blu-Sky, wanted to attend drama and dance classes to help with her confidence but her family couldn’t afford to pay for lessons.
“Blu-Sky has a passion for dance. She can’t explain it but she feels good on stage. I find it a struggle as I am a one parent family. The bursary will make a great difference as it has given her confidence again. Blu-Sky’s ambition is to go to performing arts school to continue her dance. She wants to be a performer. I appreciate what you have done for her. Thank you so much.”
Her older brother was in a similar situation to Blu-Sky at her age, and having received a scholarship to a performing arts school, he now dances professionally – recently in the West End show Billy Elliott.
Thanks to you, this small bursary will ensure that Blu-Sky and other young dancers are not stopped from fulfilling their potential due to lack of funding. Thank you!
